’13 Hours’ could have been and should have been a crisp 90 minutes movie because a huge chunk of it, primarily the first half, felt immensely uneventful, uninteresting, purposeless and redundant. The ‘’Character building’’ moments were cliched and lethargic and they could easily have been included in the 'down times' during the shootouts. The film would also have been massively improved if the technical, military and political jargon was cut down a bit.

But if you can make it past the 1-hour mark without dozing off, you will be entertained since the film starts to significantly improve its pacing and narrative. Competently directed shootout scenes with good performances and well-executed emotionally impactful moments made the film an engaging and enjoyable watch in the second half.

Everyone in the cast looked the part well, and gave a good enough performance for the script to work.

But, even if the above elements don’t necessarily work for you, if you’re a fan of ‘The Office’, then a buff John Krasinski sporting a gorgeous beard and an intense emotive face will most definitely manage to keep you glued to the screen.

RATING -: 6/10
