However faithful of an adaptation this film might be, the way the screenplay was presented left me a bit underwhelmed. Even though the runtime was under 2 hours, the film seemed to drag a bit in some parts. I had some problems with the story too but that's not really the film's fault rather the source material's so I shall not indulge in exploring those.

That being said, the film still did a good job at portraying its lovable characters, played proficiently by the stacked cast. The score was great and the emotional moments were impactful.

Visually, the film looked a little monotone at times but I suppose its purpose was to convey the family's financial condition so it didn’t particularly feel incongruous. However, a better sense of color palette and cinematography in the March household would have certainly enhanced the overall story.

So while I wouldn't call it a must-watch, ‘Little Women’ is still a competently made film that guarantees a fun, warm, and heartwarming viewing experience for everyone in the family.
