Manhunt : Unabomber

CREATORS-:
Andrew Sodroski
Jim Clemente
Tony Gittelson

STARRING-:
Paul Bettany
Sam Worthington
Chris Noth

AIRED IN-:
2017
PREMISE-:
An in-depth look at how an FBI profiler helped track down the terrorist Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber.

MY ONLY COMPLAINTS-:

  • Sam Worthington's performance came across as wooden in a lot of scenes. I feel like he was miscast because it was evident that he was unable to command scenes as masterfully and effortlessly as Paul Bettany.
  • The show could’ve been more engaging if some more exhilarating moments were incorporated in the screenplay. Not to say that these moments were absent, but they certainly could've been improved upon and sprinkled more frequently throughout the show.

CONCLUSION

Keep in mind that ‘Manhunt : Unabomber’ lacks a peculiar grittiness and bleakness which made shows like 'Mindhunter' or 'True Detective' extremely immersive and highly re-watchable.

But, if you're a fan of the 'serial-killer' genre then 'Manhunt:Unabomber' is still recommended since it satisfyingly depicts enough procedural as well as character-driven insight, and meticulously manages to execute its storylines without overstaying its welcome.

RATING -: 6/10
