THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS.

THE POSITIVES-:

  • The animation was very pleasing to look at.
  • The voice acting was good.
  • The TV shows incorporated within the film were amusing and humorous.
  • The banter between Jasper and Horace was entertaining to watch and reminded me of the dynamic between Harry and Marv from ‘Home alone’.

THE PROBLEMS-:

  • The 'twilight bark' scene should have been cut down a bit. It seemed to go on for way too long even after the point had been conveyed.
  • If the Scotland Yard was investigating Cruella regarding the dognapping, what stopped them from searching her old residence - 'Hell Hall'?
  • There were several conveniences and coincidences in the last 20-30 mintues. Such as-:
  1. Jasper and Horace's favorite show ‘What’s My Crime’ is coincidentally on the telly at the same time that Tibbs comes to help the puppies.
  2. Pongo and Perdita luckily arrive at Hell Hall at the SAME time the puppies were going to get popped and skinned.
  3. Jasper and Horace’s spine conveniently doesn’t break from a Horse's kick.
  4. Horace and Jasper never think about why so many Labradors are mounting the back of a van, nor do they ask the driver about the same.
  5. Horace and Jasper just acknowledge the first batch of the puppies marching towards the van and conveniently ignore the rest of the dogs that walk RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.
  6. While Cruella is in her car talking to her henchmen, she also conveniently misses the puppies which are walking RIGHT BESIDE HER.
  7. The drops from the ice conveniently fall on the Dalmatians at the SAME TIME that Cruella arrives in front of them.
  8. Before departing the village, the driver conveniently forgets to close the back gate of his van, which would result in him discovering the dogs.
  9. While Cruella is busy ramming her car into the van, a bridge that de-tracks Cruella conveniently appears on the road.
  10. The steering wheel of Jasper and Horace’s car conveniently breaks at the SAME TIME that Cruella's car appears in front of them, which results in them colliding into each other and hence making it easy for the dogs to escape.
  • Why didn’t Cruella just tell the driver that the back of his van is filled with over a hundred dogs? Let’s just say for the sake of argument that upon discovering the dogs in his van, the driver refuses to hand them over to Cruella. Even then, Cruella could just tell Jasper and Horace to knock the driver unconscious, couldn’t she? So why does she instead decide to risk her life by driving carelessly in a slippery terrain?
  • I get that the film was going for a happy ending, but couldn’t Cruella still re-claim 99 of the Dalmatians since they are all technically HER pets, which she bought from the pet shop?
CONCLUSION
Even though the ending sequences are very clearly riddled with a lot of flaws, I still had a good time watching the film and wasn't bored at any point. I would recommend it to anyone who's just interested in a simple story with adorable characters, beautiful animation, and a sweet sense of familial love and adventure.

RATING -: 6/10
